Technical Drawing

Technical drawing represents the most important means by which the designer conveys his intentions to the clients, colleagues and others. They are therefore, graphic representations of their intentions. Their absolute clarity is therefore essential. Clear, well planned drawings not only make the info they contain easy to understand, they inspire confidence. On the other hand, poor drawings do little but reveal the designers lack of knowledge and inability to conduct affairs in a well- arranged manner.
This is one of the major reasons why almost all technical drawings are made to scale i.e. the objects shown on them are not represented at their true size but are larger or smaller in some proportion.

Drawing Types
In the building design and construction industries, tech. drawing types include;
1.       Planning Drawing
2.       Landscape Drawing
3.       Measured Drawing
4.       Architectural Drawing
5.       Specialist Engineering Drawing

Generally, techniques of draftsmanship are common, but conventional reps and indications may vary for each type.
